Parksville Community Centre Weekly News

October 26, 2026  ·  223 Mills Street, Parksville

The Centre was buzzing last week, with more than 30 bookings across seven days — and this week brings a brand-new workshop, a Friday night jam, and plenty of familiar favourites. Here’s the roundup.

Last Week at the Centre (Oct 18–24)

  • We helped Parksville vote. On Saturday the Hall served as an Elections BC polling station, open 8 am to 8 pm.
  • New dancers hit the floor. The Wheel Arounds Oceanside Square Dancers ran new-dancer classes in the Hall on Thursday.
  • Learning never stops. Elder College filled Room 119 on Tuesday and Wednesday, and ProBus filled the Hall on Monday morning.
  • Support where it matters. The Alzheimer Society of BC hosted its caregiver support group, and the Canadian Council of the Blind Parksville Chapter met on Tuesday.
  • Making newcomers feel at home. Community Wagon met Wednesday, and Thursday’s New In Town Couples Coffee & Chat welcomed new faces.
  • A little calm, a lot of community. Friday evening closed with a Sound Bath, alongside Rotary, Dominoes, yoga and the RDN Youth Music class.
  • Recycling for a good cause. On Saturday, the PCC Volunteer Pop-up Recycle Depot was open at 1080 Industrial Way, 10:00 am–3:00 pm, under contract with RecycleBC.

Closed meetings (private, not open to the public): the Representative for Children and Youth (Mon, Boardroom), a Management Hybrid Conference (Tue, Hall), Tom Harris Cellular (Tue, Boardroom), a Pot-Luck Dinner (Wed, Hall), a Supporter Appreciation Event (Thu, Room 110), Girl Guides (Tue, Room 120), and My Dog Nose training by appointment.
